The Challenge
Plaza 48, a very busy shopping mall in Long Island City, NY was in dire need of an update. The space which contains several retail shops and restaurants presented a real challenge. The owners made it clear to us that during this shopping center façade renovation, we were to allow access to the businesses at all times, and that the job be completed within 90 days. Ben’s set out to replace all the storefronts and glass, and add tall parapet walls, as well as install all new smooth acrylic stucco, and new brick walls.
The Solution
Ben’s General Contracting Corp. tackled this challenge, and designed a scaffold that would keep the location accessible, protect the large population of shoppers, and assure the productivity of the project. Our ability to install the brick work on the lower half, and apply new stucco and metal capping simultaneously, made this job a shining success.
