Louisiana flood victims have a long road until recovery, but local Long Islanders are doing their part to help storm and flood victims. Last week, organizations and individuals from around the Long Island area came together to help. Among them were Ben Jackson and Jennifer Jerome of Ben’s. The supplies, covering everything families need for their daily routines, made it to Louisiana on September 18, and were distributed to the victims.
The joint effort in providing aid to disaster victims was not the first time Ben’s and others have led the charge to help storm victims. As a matter of fact, in 2013, some groups went to Oklahoma to help victims after the devastating tornadoes struck their homes. Similarly, Ben’s made tremendous strides in 2012 and beyond, assisting Hurricane Sandy victims on Long Island, NY. That effort continues today as Ben’s has become the preeminent general contractor on Long Island helping local families rebuild and renovate, lift their homes, and take proactive measures against future storms.
Louisiana residents were impressed with the effort and thankful for Long Islanders’ generosity. Gabriel Durocher (a volunteer firefighter from Louisiana) was quoted by the Long Island Herald, “It just goes to show no matter what’s going on in the world, there are people still willing to help.” And Ben’s General Contracting is proud to among them. According to Ben Jackson, “It is amazing what the community achieves when it comes together for a cause. We are happy to lend a hand.”
